Club Etiquette
It is important for all club players to maintain a basic level of etiquette during club play. The foundation of our club etiquette is rooted in our club values, which are found on the Home Page.
Club Etiquette #1
Always uphold good sportsmanship. We all love the game of pickleball, but it is only a game. Respect all players.
Club Etiquette #2
Begin each game by acknowledging the other players, and by introducing yourself if you don’t know them. Be welcoming to all players.
Club Etiquette #3
If the ball is “out,” and it’s on your side, call it out. If it’s close, give the benefit of the doubt to your opponent. This is hard to do when the game is close but do it anyway.
Club Etiquette #4
If you step into the kitchen on a volley, or if your partner does, call it. Be cautious about calling kitchen or serving faults on others unless it is obvious.
Club Etiquette #5
Sometimes spectators and players comment on the plays. While this is normal and fun, ask them to refrain if their comments are loud, disruptive, argumentative, hostile or combative.
Club Etiquette #6
Respect skill differences between players. If there are significant skill level gaps between players on the court, please be gracious and help people improve their game (don't pick on lesser skilled players). Let's make our pickleball experience fun and competitive for all skill levels.
The Fun Guarantee
When we practice proper etiquette we create an environment and culture that is fun for everyone.
